Big Thank You & Little Update

By Andrew Peters - DDC (People) ⚜  As you will have seen, the Scout association has removed the requirement for COVID risk assessments to be approved by District. Groups and sections must still document COVID-19 risks assessments, but like all other risks that we manage every day, it can be agreed within the Group itself (and within the District team for Explorer Units and Scout Networks). For general section meetings, there's no longer a requirement for parent or carer consent to our COVID-19 secure methods. There have been some other relaxations to the guidance too. Relaxation of Covid Rules

By Fiona Burrows - District Commissioner ⚜ ​ Firstly, I would like to thank you all for the amazing job leaders and all volunteers have been doing across the District for the last 15 months keeping Scouting active across Rushcliffe. It has not been easy but with each new change we have made alterations, written yet more Risk Assessments and kept young people engaged with Scouting. I am humbled by the combined actions of each and every one of you and I would like to say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart. We are waiting to see how The Scout Association, in conjunction with the NYA, will react to the most recent relaxation of COVID measures. It seems a little of an oxymoron that as cases are rising amongst our young people, we are going to be entering a new phase in dealing with this pandemic.
