Message from the Mayor

One of the most enjoyable events I attended last year as Deputy Mayor of Rushcliffe Borough Council was one of the presentation evenings at Rushcliffe Arena for Rushcliffe Scouts in the autumn of 2019 and I was looking forward to the 2020 presentation events. As there were no events taking place this year I am sending all young people in Rushcliffe Scouts and all their leaders a message for New Year 2021 instead. 

In 2020 the wonderful  Rushcliffe Scout leaders have been working hard providing virtual scouting throughout lockdown and face to face meetings when possible. There have been virtual camps, campfires over Zoom,  scavenger hunts, activity days, and challenges set for young people. Thank you to all the Leaders for doing such a fantastic job in difficult circumstances. In 2020 the young people have been brilliant and risen to the challenges they faced to keep learning #SkillsForLife. 

I am hopeful that later in 2021 there will be many more opportunities for face to face activities and I wish you all, Leaders and young people, a very happy and safe New Year.
