By Fiona Burrows - District Commissioner ⚜ On 22 February every year, millions of Scouts around the world gather at local, national and international levels to celebrate Founder’s Day. It is the birthday of Lord Baden-Powell (1857-1941), the pioneer of Scouting. Founder’s Day is a crucial event in the Scouting calendar when members renew their Scout Promise reaffirming their commitment to the core values of the Movement. As a small child I always wore my Brownie uniform to school on 22nd February along with many other children in Scouting and Girl Guiding making the day a really special celebration. This year we are doing things a little differently and taking the time to thank our fabulous leaders and volunteers across Rushcliffe and the rest of the country.
